In all my credit series articles, I tell you not to be afraid of credit cards. So here are 10 tips on how you can use multiple credit cards to raise your credit scores.
- Apply for as many credit cards you can get, not all at the same time, let’s say 1 to 2 cards every 2 – 3 months;
- Keep a log of your limits for each card, write down the last four digits and the card name so you know which card has which maximum limit – keep in a very safe place;
- Calculate 33% of each card’s limit and put that number next to the card limit. This is the maximum amount you’ll has as a balance on that card at any given time;
- Follow these steps on how to use your cards;
- Try to get bank credit cards if you can, they’re better;
- NEVER let your balance go over 33% if you can help it, if you can’t help it, try not to go above 50%;
- NEVER close any of those cards;
- Try to keep some form of activity going on all your cards each month, or at the very least, every other month. So if you have 10 cards, and you have 4 bills to pay each month, use the four cards to take care of each of those four bills, then use the other six cards for gas, groceries, get your hair done, etc; but make sure you have the cash to pay those off each month. See step number four;
- If the credit card company offers to raise your credit limit, take the option. That doesn’t mean you have to use more credit – remember, you can use up to 33% of your card limit.
- Try to stay away from store credit cards, gas credit cards; you can only use those at those specific stores, and that can usually lead you down the rabbit hole of credit trouble when you start purchasing something that you don’t really need just to keep your credit card active apothekeschweizer.de.
These 10 tips can help you build those higher credit scores, which in the long run, can save you money and give you a certain amount of freedom when renting – or buying – a home.
